Pocono Record article on park development - Thursday, September 29, 2011
As you can see we continue to be receiving interest from the media and public. Those interest are focused on the handicap playground and the overall park development. PennDOT project - Monday, August 22, 2011
The work is over and the grass is taking hold. The area looks very nice with all the green grass starting to sprout. The road is striped and traffic is flowing smoothly. Take a short drive down Golden Slipper Road and look over the results of the road upgrade at the HJP Regional Park site. 
Hwy up grade - Wednesday, August 10, 2011
The first of many improvements is over. The Golden Slipper Road project is over and the grass is begining to sprout. Many possitive comments have come into the office over the new look to the future Regional Park enterances. We will begin our fall programing out there soon. 
Programs and Camps - Wednesday, August 10, 2011
Our Summer Camps concluded on Friday the 5th. We feel they were successful for our first year. We look to improve them even more for next year. We have about 100 Thank-you from the kids and they are very appreciated. Even the suggestion from the kids are good. We look forward to see most of them next year. our Camp regisrtation process will begin much earlier in the year too. 

We are offering 1st Aid, CPR training next month. We will be holding other programs yet this fall and into the winter. Check our website calender and Facebook for more details on upcoming classes.

Construction Updates - Friday, July 01, 2011
Pre-Constrution meetings (2) this week to make sure everyone is on the same page. Work on the PennDOT road upgrade/improvement should start soon. 
Summer Camp Update - - Friday, July 01, 2011
Our first week of camps are over with 5 more to go. Feed back from the kids - They claim to be having fun. Some of the high-lights from the week are, Water days are cool and wet with slip-n-slides, sprinklers etc. They learned to fish by a PA State Fish & Boat Commission. They also had a Jammie day. And they planted seeds to watch root/plant growth. The seeds are planted in a clear medium so the observation of the root can be watch as the weeks of camp go along.

Also, today is the first day of registration for our Summer Camps. Applications and may be picked-up in our office daily 8-5. We can email applications to you also. 
Highway Improvement Bids - Monday, April 04, 2011
As of today we are excepting bids for our highway improvement part of our park development.See the Pocono Record for the official notice and information on where to get a copy of the bid documents. 
Summer Camp Registration - Thursday, March 24, 2011
Registration for Summer Camps will begin on April 4th. You mail email us at recmanager@hjpparks.org and we will reply with an application for you. You may also come into the office and pick-up an application for your child. One application per child. Costs are $350 for the 1st child, $325 for the 2nd and $300 for anymore. Camp will be held Jun 27 thru Aug 5, Mon - Fri except July 4th. Hours are 9AM - 3PM daily. We will be also offering a summer tennis program for all age groups. more details well be coming soon. 
Summer Camps - Friday, February 18, 2011
We have been asked to take over the SUMMER CAMPS at Hamilton and Swiftwater Elementary School. Monroe County Recreation Dept. was dismantled due to the budget. We are in the process of securing those location. We will be holding a Tennis camp at Mountain View park also. More details will be posted within the next couple of months.

No Hunting - Thursday, December 02, 2010
The Board of Directors have voted to NOT allow Hunting due to the outdoor activities that take place. Hunting would place the public at risk. 
Non-Profit Status - Friday, November 26, 2010
We have our Non-Profit 501(c)(3) status with the IRS. So any and all donations and fundraising may be donated thru this. If you would like to be part of this group, contact our park office. 
Geocaching - Sunday, November 14, 2010
We have our 1st official Geocache placed by an individual. 
Permits - Tuesday, November 02, 2010
We have all our permits. We are waiting on our final set of drawings from SSM so we may set up bids. 
Friends of HJP - Wednesday, September 15, 2010
We are currently developing a "Friends of HJP Park and Open Space" group. We will be looking for members and volunteers as this group gets under way. Our submission to the IRS for our 501 (c)(3), [non profit status], is pending their review and approval. 
DEP Review - Monday, July 05, 2010
Part of our plans are at DEP for final review and part are at PennDOT. Once we get them back we will be looking to bid out the work to construct the parks features.
