The commission has a combined population of over 27,700. The commission was created with assistance of a peer grant from PA state DCNR in 2005 with a focus on implementing the HJP Open Space and Recreation Plan, developing a regional park and offering park and recreation services to participating townships. Other services are to be advisors to the 3 municipalities and the 2 school districts, by the existing staff.

Meetings

Regular monthly meetings are held at 11:00 AM, on the First Thursday of the month, at the Pocono Township Municipal Building.
